Pool Party is the story of an abandoned WPA swimming Pool, once the largest in New York City, brought to life by incredible music that filled its basin for 3 short summers. It's a final celebration of McCarren Pool as a unique venue set at the center of an international music scene in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Pool Party features performances by Sonic Youth, the Ting Tings, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yo La Tengo, the Beastie Boys, and many more. The film chronicles the colorful history of McCarren Pool as we celebrate this iconic performance space for the very last time.

Beth Aala is an independent director and award-winning producer with vast experience in all aspects of production including editing and camera work. Most recently she produced “A Family is A Family is A Family, A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration" that aired on HBO early in 2010 and was an honord recipient of the 2008 Emmy Award for HBO's "Classical Baby (I'm Grown Up Now) The Poetry Show."
